This body butter was formulated with dry, irritated skin in mind. It contains hydrating oils of fractionated coconut and babassu seed. The water content is a blend of calendula flower hydrosol and distilled water. Hydrolyzed oat protein and allantoin* were added to help heal and calm dry, irritated skin. Comes in 3 oz tins.
*Allantoin occurs naturally in the root of the Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) plant. This formulation contains a nature-identical, synthesized derivative of allantoin made to USP specifications. Allantoin helps increase the water content of the skin's extracellular matrix. It enhances the desquamation of the upper layers of dead skin, increasing its smoothness. Allantoin has a moisturizing and keratolytic effect that promotes cell proliferation and wound healing. It is extremely effective at low concentrations to help with dry, irritated skin.
